An incomplete gilded silver finger ring, of Medieval dating (AD 1200 to AD 1400). Around 50% of the finger ring is present, consisting of the bezel and part of the hoop. The rest of the hoop is missing, presumed lost in antiquity. The edges of the hoop look deliberately cut. The finger ring has been made from two elements: the bezel and the hoop. One side of the hoop is complete with an rounded end, the other exhibits an old square break. A complete silver stirrup finger ring, of Medieval dating (AD 1200 to AD 1400). The finger ring has a D shaped hoop. The hoop rises to a flat topped pointed bezel. A gem is set into the bezel with a plain setting. The gem is oval. Under magnification, it is possible to see pitting and a conchoidal fracture in the surface of the gem, suggesting that it is probably glass as opposed to a gemstone. The bezel consists of a crescent shape. An old break is present on either side of the crescent (edges not photographed).The front of the crescent has been decorated with a grooved border, creating an inner raised crescent. An incomplete silver finger ring of Roman date, probably 3rd Century AD. Around 25% of the finger ring is present, consisting of part of the bezel, a shoulder and the start of the hoop. The bezel was originally rectangular in shape, with a recessed border around the edge. The end part of the inscription is present, consisting of the letters 'MT'. A complete cast silver finger ring with intaglio, of Roman datin (2nd to 3rd Centuries AD). The finger ring, sub-oval in plan, is a small example of Henig Type II. It has an oval hoop of D-shaped cross-section and smooth rounded shoulders, with an intaglio recessed in the centre of the flat bezel. The intaglio, a tiny oval carnelian, is set with its upper flat face a little proud of the bezel. One end of the gem is damaged, making it harder to identify the subject of the engraved image, which appears to show a two-tiered device flanked by ?cornucopiae or similar. The ring has an…
