A complete gold and rock crystal finger ring, of Post Medieval dating (AD 1600 to AD1700). The finger ring has a distorted hoop of 'D-shaped' section, widening from the back to the bezel. Each shoulder is decorated by three longitudinal V shaped grooves, the outer ones bend inwards just above a short horizontal groove. A short longitudinal groove is present just below this line. An incomplete gilded silver finger ring, of Medieval dating (AD 1200 to AD 1400). Around 50% of the finger ring is present, consisting of the bezel and part of the hoop. The rest of the hoop is missing, presumed lost in antiquity. The edges of the hoop look deliberately cut. The finger ring has been made from two elements: the bezel and the hoop. A complete silver stirrup finger ring, of Medieval dating (AD 1200 to AD 1400). The finger ring has a D shaped hoop. The hoop rises to a flat topped pointed bezel. A gem is set into the bezel with a plain setting. The gem is oval. Under magnification, it is possible to see pitting and a conchoidal fracture in the surface of the gem, suggesting that it is probably glass as opposed to a gemstone. An incomplete silver finger ring of Roman date, probably 3rd Century AD. Around 25% of the finger ring is present, consisting of part of the bezel, a shoulder and the start of the hoop. The bezel was originally rectangular in shape, with a recessed border around the edge. The end part of the inscription is present, consisting of the letters 'MT'. A complete gold finger ring, of probable Early Post Medieval dating (AD 1550 to AD 1700). The finger ring has a flattened D shaped section and sub circular in plan. The exterior is plain. The edges have been bevelled. The interior bears the following inscription: .I . LIKE . MY . CHOYSE ... . No maker's mark is present. Small diagonal dashes are present between each word, with three diagonal dashes at the end. Due to being mishappen, the original diameter is hard to determine, but probably was around 18 mm. The bezel is unusual, consisting of a concave recess, with an circular sectioned bar mounted above it. Domed terminals are present on either end of the bar.
