A complete silver finger ring, of Roman dating (AD 100 to AD 300). The finger ring has a rectangular shaped bezel, with a couple of semi circular notches removed from each side. The shoulders are triangular and flattened, with five sets of incised lines that expand from the loop outwards towards the bezel. The hoop at the back is triangular in cross section and is 4.7 mm thick and 3.9 mm wide. The bezel measures 21.6 mm in length and is 18.4 mm wide. A complete silver finger ring, of Medieval dating (14th to 15th Centuries). The hoop is circular with a rectangular section and has three raised bezels in the shape of four-petalled flowers. The central bezel is square (6.8 mm by 6.5 mm) , whereas the other two are lozenge shaped, with rounded corners (7.9 mm by 7.9 mm). The bezel is a raised square with a central circular recess. This recess contains white paste, probably the remains of the adhesive that originally held a gem in place. The finger ring consists of a sub rectangular strip of copper alloy sheet metal, with tapered ends, folded into a sub circular shape, with the tapered ends meeting. The finger ring is plain and undecorated on both sides. The probable finger ring measures 18.09 mm in length, 11.54 mm wide and 12.76mm high. The metal is 1.55 mm thick. It weighs 4.2 grams. The probable finger ring is a mid to dark green colour, with an even surface patina.
