A complete gold finger ring, of probable Early Post Medieval dating (AD 1550 to AD 1700). The finger ring has a flattened D shaped section and sub circular in plan. The exterior is plain. The edges have been bevelled. The interior bears the following inscription: .I . LIKE . MY . CHOYSE ... . No maker's mark is present. No stamps or marks are present on the wire. The ends have been cut. It has been formed into a circular shape with the ends of the wire overlapping by 3.4 mm. It weighs 1.0 g. The circular section of the wire is suggestive of a modern date, and therefore as it is probably less than 300 years old, it falls outside of the remits of the Treasure Act 1996 and should not be considered to be potential Treasure.
