Description: A complete but misshapen gold and enamel finger ring, of Post Medieval dating (16th to 17th Centuries AD). The finger ring was originally circular in shape, but is now sub square, due to post depositional soil pressure deforming the band. It has a D shaped cross section. It has been decorated with a geometric grid pattern on the exterior containing significant remains of white enamel. Each square in the grid is approximately 1.0 mm wide. A complete, misshapen gold finger ring, of Late Medieval to Early Post Medieval dating (AD 1400 to AD 1600). The finger ring would have originally been circular, but is now a flattened oval. The hoop has a D shaped cross section, with the internal surface flat. Two inscriptions are present, one exterior and one interior, both written in capital letters. The exterior inscription is embossed, with arecessed horizontal border above and below.
