An incomplete copper-alloy centre-looped cosmetic pestle of Late Iron Age or Roman dating (AD 1 - 200). The pestle is crescent-shaped, but only shallowly curved. The tips of the pestle taper to a blunt point. One tip is incomplete. There is a central loop handle and suspension point. It is an integral circular hole with an internal diameter of 5.5 mm and an external diameter of 10.8 mm. A rectangular knop is present at the top of the loop. An incomplete copper alloy probable pestle from a Cosmetic Set, of Late Iron Age to Early Roman dating (100 BC to AD 200). Around 75% of the probable pestle is present, the loop is incomplete. The probable pestle iwas originally end looped. The probable pestle has an oval cross section, curved and gradually tapers to the tip. It measures 51.3 mm in length, 16.1 mm wide and 6.7 mm thick.
