An incomplete enamelled copper alloy button and loop fastener, of Roman Wild 1970, Type VIa dating (2nd Century AD). Less than 50% of the button and loop fastener is present, consisting of the head of the button and loop fastener. The loop and part of the shank are missing. A complete copper alloy button and loop fastener, of Early Roman dating (AD 43 to AD 200). The fastener consists of a flat discoidal head, with a rectangular sectioned shank fixing to the centre of the reverse. The shank extends out into a triangular loop. The front of the disc has been decorated with a long cross. It measures 33.3 mm in length, 17.2 mm wide and 13.2 mm thick. The discoidal head has a diameter of 18.0 mm. It weighs 9.1 g.
