An incomplete copper alloy single loop spur buckle with an integral plate of medieval dating (c.AD 1250-1400). The head of the buckle has an oval frame leading to the body which is slightly concave and tapers to a point. There are two rivet holes below the loop which have been filled and are intersected by a horizontal ridge. Iron corrosion products obscure the holes and part of the loop. The plate is incomplete, broken about at the midway point. The reverse of the buckle is undecorated and the pin is missing. It measures 21.3 mm in length, 14.3 mm wide and 3.4 mm thick. It…

An incomplete strap plate from a buckle or clasp, of Medieval dating (AD 1200 to AD 1500).  The strap plate is sub rectangular in plate, with a pointed terminal. The other end has been wrapped around a strap bar. Iron corrosion products partially obscure the end, but a rectangular notch is visible, presumably for a pin (now missing).
