A casting seam is present along the both sides of the jug, along the length of the handle and directly opposite the handle. The base of the jug is circular. An incomplete cast copper alloy rim fragment from a copper alloy large posnet or cauldron of Late Medieval to Early Post Medieval dating (1400 - 1700 AD). The rim fragment is irregular in plan, but rectangular in cross section. The internal surface is smooth and polished. One faint concentric ridge is present on the exterior. A central ridge is present on the dorsal (upper) face, with signs of retouch along the edges. The ventral (lower) face demonstrates signs of concoidal ripples. The bulb of percussion and striking platforms are missing. The blade is a light grey / dark beige colour, with little surface patination.
