An incomplete clipped struck / hammered silver half crown of Charles I (AD 1625 to AD 1649), dating to the period AD 1644 to AD 1645. CAROLVS DG MAG BRI FR ET HIB REX obverse type depicting Charles on horseback, with long scarf & sash tied in a bow at his waist, upright sword (Group III equestrian portrait). CHRISTO AVSPICE REGNO reverse type depicting an oval garnished shield. Reverse is doublestruck. Mintmark (R) indicating that it was minted at the Tower Mint under Parliament. North type 2213.
