A complete pierced halfgroat of the Commonwealth period (AD 1649 to AD 1660), dating to the period AD 1649 to AD 1660. Minted at the Tower. North vol 2, p206, no 2728. Coin has been pierced through the centre from reverse to obverse, this may have been due to suspicions at the time that it was a contemporary copy. Piercing has an internal diameter of 1.8 mm. Diameter: 16.1 mm Thickness: 0.6 mm Weight: 0.8 g
