An incomplete cast copper alloy button and loop fastener dating from the late Iron Age to early Roman periods, circa AD1-AD100. In plan, the button has a tear-drop form with the incomplete loop extending underneath. The loop terminates in an old break. The face of the button has a circular domed knop at the centre. An incomplete knapped / struck flint blade probably dating to the late Mesolithic period, circa 7000-3500 BC. The blade is broadly triangular in plan and the section is trapezoidal. No cortex is present indicating that this is a tertiary blade. The flint is a slightly mottled light - mid brown colour and is translucent. Two central longitudinal ridges are present on the dorsal side, with some evidence of retouching.Concoidal ripples are present on the ventral surface. Length: 32.05mm. Width: 14.90mm. Thickness: 2.95mm. Weight: 1.7g.

A complete cast copper alloy double loop oval buckle frame, of late Medieval dating (c.1400 to 1600 AD). The buckle frame consists of a double looped oval buckle frame, with bevelled edges to the frame. The pin and strap plate are not present. The edges of the buckle frame are raised higher than the central bar. The buckle is a mid dark green to brown, with an uneven surface patina. Abrasion has resulted in the loss of surface detail and patina from the edges and flat surfaces. The buckle frame measures 23.77mm in length, 19.70mm wide and 2.32mm thick. It weighs 2.3 grams. …
