The obverse face bears a moulded design consisting of a king with sword and square topped shield standing in a ship with rectangular bow . The reverse face is plain and undecorated. It consists of a hollow tube, with a break at the bottom, extending upwards into a terminal of two (originally three) plumed feathers, with a collar or ribbon at the base.  It measures 45.0 mm in length, 16.0 mm wide and 6.8 mm thick.
