A minimum of three lead or lead alloy, possible vat or tanks, of uncertain dating but possibly Early Medieval (AD 750 to AD 1000).
The three vats were originally found together, but are now fragmentary. All three vats have oval bases, and originally upright walls, however they have all been flattened, with the sides pressed inwards. A rim fragment of a copper alloy vessel of Late Medieval to Early Post Medieval dating (AD 1400 - AD 1700).
The rim fragment has a rectangular cross section. The rim type consists of a bevelled type. This section is possibly from a cooking vessel either a cauldron or posnet (See Fig 1 in Butler, Green and Payne 2009 for examples of the vessel type). The fragment is a dark brown colour, with a fairly smooth surface patina.
Cooking vessels of this type were in use from as early as AD 1100 and slowly go out of use by AD 1850, after being superseded by cast iron pots and saucep…

An incomplete copper alloy foot or leg from a cast copper alloy cooking vessel of Late Medieval to Post Medieval dating (AD 1400 to AD 1700).
The leg is sub rectangular in shape, with tapering sides. The upper edge has a broken terminal where the leg would have once attached to the pot. The sides taper to a lower rounded edge. On the outer face is a central moulded rib that runs vertically along the fragment. The opposing face is flat.

A complete copper alloy zoomorphic decorative pouring spout or laver, probably from an ewer of the Late Medieval period, dating from c. AD 1400 - c. AD 1500.
This artefact has an integrally cast angular dog's head terminal with a tubular spout extending out from the dog's open sub lozenge-shaped mouth (internal diameter of spout: 5.1mm), the tube is gripped by the jaws of the dog. The probable tankard handle is rectangular in shape, with a flat cross section. Both ends exhibit an old patinated break. The strip curves upwards at one end. This end has been decorated with a pair of wide shallow grooves. The reverse is undecorated.
