A complete lead or lead alloy biconvex spindle whorl, of possible Medieval dating (AD 1100 to AD 1450). The spindle whorl is sub circular in shape, and lentoid in cross section. The central hole is sub circular in shape and has been cast slightly off central. The internal diameter of the hole measures 9.5 mm wide. The upper face has been decorated with several raised diagonal lines, possibly imitating letters but no actual letters can be determined. The lower face is undecorated.
