It consists of an openwork lozenge style mount, with two integrally cast attachment spikes on the rear of the mount. Both the front and the back of the mount are plain and undecorated. A medieval silver coin of Edward II (1307-27), probably of class 10cf3 (1307-9), minted at Canterbury. The coin is mostly complete, but has been altered in two ways. The coin has been pierced through the top of the obverse above the crown (equating to the base of the long cross of the reverse), possibly in order that the coin could be suspended. A complete cast copper alloy square single loop buckle, of probable Late Medieval to Early Post Medieval (c.1550 - c. 1650 AD). The buckle frame is square in plan, with two projecting knops at each corner on the inside edge. The frame is rectangular in cross section. Bevelling on both sides of the inside edge is present between the two projecting knops.
