The casting waste fragment consists is sub circular in plan, with uneven, almost bubbly surfaces. It is sub rectangular in cross section. The find consists of a semi-circular top half, with an octagonal (eight sided) base. The top has a concave centre, with a circular hole drilled into the centre. The internal diameter of the hole is 2.26mm. File or saw marks are present across the top. The find is a dark green colour, with an even surface patina. It measures 15.17mm tall, 13.13mm wide and 12.03mm thick. It weighs 6.8 grams.

An incomplete cast copper alloy, probable two link bridle bit of the Polden Hill sub type, of Late Iron Age to Early Roman dating (150 BC to c.43 AD). The bit consists of one end of the mouthpiece, with a heavy collared terminal perforation. The simple cheekpiece rings would have been directly threaded through this perforation. The catch plate fragment consists of the base of the bow and part of the triangular catch plate behind it. It is rectangular in plan, and irregular in profile. The catch plate is a mid to dark green colour, with an even surface patina. Abrasion, caused by movement whilst within the plough soil, has resulted in a loss of surface detail.
