Incomplete copper-alloy suspension mount for a horse-harness pendant, dating from c.1200 to c. 1400. The find consists of a plate, originally square or rectangular but now much abraded. One edge has two rectangular projections (each approx 4.5 mm wide), which would have been folded around a bar to create a hinge for the pendant. The projections have broken at the point of folding. A solid cast, Late Medieval to Early Post Medieval (1500 to 1700 AD) domed lead alloy button. The head of the button is plano-convex in shape, with a flat base and domed top. The front of the button is decorated with an embossed (slightly raised) long cross design with a central pellet in each quarter. A small Trumpet style copper alloy Roman brooch, missing the catch plate and pin sections, dated to the 1st to 2nd Centuries AD. Approximately 25% of the brooch is present, consisting of the head and the upper part of the bow. The catchplate, foot, hinge and pin are all missing, presumably lost in antiquity. A square double sided copper alloy coin weight, from the Low Countries, 16th to 17th Centuries (1500 to 1600 AD) in dating. The obverse consists of a circular impressed design of a ship, with rose in the middle of the ship's side, with the letters R & S either side of the mast. The R is consistent with weights for Rose Nobels, commonly known as Ryals. (Withers 1995, p20). The sherd has an oxidised fabric, with frequent small charcoal like inclusions. Traces of a green glaze with a white slip underneath are present on the exterior of the sherd. A fragment of a probable funerary / monumental memorial brass, most likely of Medieval dating (13th to 15th Centuries AD). The fragment appears to be either the elbow or shoulder sections of a suit of armour. The underside of the fragment exhibits grooves, presuming to aid the anchoring into stone for display. The fragment measures 63.16mm in length, 32.53mm wide and 3.24mm thick. It weighs 28.1 grams. Images have been sent to specialists at the Monumental Brass Society to aid identification of the fragment.
