An incomplete strap plate from a buckle or clasp, of Medieval dating (AD 1200 to AD 1500).  The strap plate is sub rectangular in plate, with a pointed terminal. The other end has been wrapped around a strap bar. Iron corrosion products partially obscure the end, but a rectangular notch is visible, presumably for a pin (now missing). No decoration is visible on either the front or reverse of the strap plate. A small rivet hole is present, close to the strap bar end, this has an internal diameter of 1.2 mm.
