A complete cast copper alloy double looped trapezoidal buckle of Post Medieval dating (1620 - 1680 AD). The buckle frame is sub rectangular / trapezoidal in plan, and rectangular in profile. The pin is present and is formed from a single sub-rectangular tapering length of copper alloy which is attached to the central bar by the end being folded to form an irregular 'wrap around' loop. An incomplete tinned copper alloy sub rectangular buckle and chape, of Post medieval dating (c.1690 to c. 1720). The buckle is a sub rectangular shoe or knee buckle, with a drilled frame for a separate spindle. The frame has been decorated with three moulded transverse vertical ridges on either side of the spindle hole. An incised foliate design is present on the outer edge of each loop. The frame is an irregular oval (D shape) in plan, with the apex of the frame being heavily swollen and tapering to the junction with the axis bar. The axis bas is offset from the plan of the frame.
