The rim sherd consists of a fabric similar to that known as Tudor Green, dating from the 15th to 16th Centuries AD. A rim fragment from a hand made (blown) glass vessel, of probable Roman dating (AD 43 to AD 410). The fragment consists of a flattened sub oval rim, descending into a narrow circular neck. This fragment probably came from a small jar or ointment vessel. The vessel was probably a mid translucent green colour, but patination on the surface has obscured some of the original vessel coloration. The fragment is 94.9 mm long, 116.5 mm wide and 93.6 mm thick. It weighs 153.9 g. The fabric is a hard oxidised fabric, with a frequent quartz (sand) temper, which is suggestive of a Late Medieval to Early Post Medieval dating (AD 1400 to AD 1600).
