A complete, but reused cast lead alloy papal bulla of Pope Boniface VIII, pope from AD 1294 to AD 1303). The obverse bears an inscription of BONI FA[ ]VS PP:VIII, split into three lines, identifying it as a bulla of Pope Boniface VIII. Like the obverse, the pelleted border around the outside has mostly been erased by the edge being hammered out and folded over. The reverse depicts St. Paul, on the left of the seal looking right, depicted with a long pointed beard. A complete Roman ceramic spindle whorl (AD 43- 409). This spindle whorl is sub-circular in plan and sub-rectangular in cross-section. A slightly off-centre circular hole has a diameter of c. 4.1mm. Close to the edge, another hole with a similar diameter does not fully penetrate the fabric. It is made from locally produced Vectis Ware and curvature indicates that it is from the body of a vessel, rather than the base. The edges are abraded. An incomplete stone flat or discoidal spindle whorl, of Roman to Post Medieval dating (AD 43 - AD 1650). Around 50% of the spindle whorl is present.The spindle whorl is semi-circular, and rectangular in cross section. The central hole is sub circular in shape and has been drilled slightly off central, from both sides. The internal diameter of the hole measures 5.6 mm wide. Both the upper and lower faces are flat. An incomplete lead or lead alloy bi convex decorated spindle whorl, of probable Medieval dating (AD 1100 to AD 1450). The spindle whorl is sub circular in shape, and lentoid in section. Decoration detail on the upper and lower faces consists of irregularly placed chevrons pointing outwards, forming a rough star design.
