A complete cast copper alloy D-shaped buckle frame and half of a copper alloy buckle plate dating to the late Medieval period, circa AD1300-1500. The frame is expanded on the outer edge with bevelled edges. The buckle has a narrowed and off-set strap bar. The buckle plate is sub rectangular with recesses cut to accomodate the frame and an incised border around the edges. The opposing end is broken across the fold. An incomplete cast copper alloy buckle of Post Medieval date, circa AD1550-1650. Approximately 50% of the buckle survives, the pin is present but there is no plate. A double looped oval buckle with a moulded floral decoration on the loop and at either end of the strap bar. Decoration is in the form of acorns. Pin formed from sub-triangular strip of sheet copper alloy wrapped around the bar. The buckle has a dark green colour with an abraded patina. Length: 40.84mm. Width: 54.59mm. Thickness: 4.55mm.
