A complete wrought iron rectangular buckle frame and pin, of probable Medieval to Post Medieval dating (1400 - 1600 AD). The buckle frame is sub rectangular in plan, and rectangular in profile. The outside edge is slightly curved. The pin is sub rectangular, with a tapering tip, and appears to have been wrapped around the strap bar. The buckle is a mid to dark reddish brown in colour, with an even surface patina. The buckle is covered with a layer of iron corrosion (rust), which has resulted in a loss of surface detail. A complete cast copper alloy annular buckle (or possible annular 'ring' brooch) of medieval date (1200-1400). The buckle is circular in plan with a circular cross section. There is no evidence for a constriction within the frame of the buckle to which a pin would fit. Instead the pin is attached by a large loop which moves freely around the frame. The find consists of a folded sheet of copper alloy metal, with four surviving copper alloy rivets. The buckle plate is sub rectangular in plan, and irregular in cross section. The left hand exhibits a fold (now broken) in the metal, which would have originally gone round the central spindle (bar) of the buckle.
