A complete struck / hammered silver, possible sixpence of William III (AD 1694 - AD 1702). The coin has been polished and bent twice for use as a love token. Due to the high level of polishing, it is hard to determine the exact date of issue and issuer. Scratches are present on both sides and give a vague impression of a deliberately scratched cursive inscription. However it is more likely that these scratches are not deliberate and the result of damage caused by stones whilst within the plough soil. Diameter: 20.26 mm Thickness: 0.87 mm Weight: 2.2 g
