A length of thick iron wire has been inserted into the weight, probably as a method of suspension. Iron corrosion products present have obscured the original shape of the probable suspension loop.

The stopper consists of a semi-circular head, with integrally cast shank beneath. The head measures 21.03mm wide (diameter) by 15.42mm in length and 6.60mm thick. The shank extends beneath the head by 6.25mm. It is incomplete. It has a circular cross section, with a diameter of 6.76mm. It weighs 19.7 grams.

A complete cast lead or lead alloy bi-convex decorated spindle whorl, of probable Medieval dating (AD 1100 to AD 1500).
The spindle whorl is sub circular in plan, and lentoid (bi convex) in cross section. Both the upper and lower faces have a cast rim along the edge (approx 3.30 mm thick), with a similar rim around the inner edge. The upper face has been decorated with multiple diagonal lines, radiating outwards from the central perforation (hole). The lower face is plain and undecorated.
