A complete early medieval sceat, Series A (c.685-700). The coin appears to be quite base, and the style of the coin is not entirely consistent with Series A2 or A3, perhaps indicating this to be a contemporary imitation (cf. D M Metcalf, Thrymsas and Sceattas in the Ashmoleam Museum, pl. 5, nos.95-6. The obverse depicts a diademed bust facing right. The reverse depicts a square with TOTII within. Diameter: 11.63 mm Thickness: 1.91 mm Weight: 1.2 g

A complete silver Sceat, of the Series B type (Bird on cross), dating to c. AD 695 to c. AD 700. The obverse depicts a diademed bust right within a beaded circle. The reverse depicts a central cross, with bird facing right above, annulet to either side of cross and an additional cross pattee upper right. C.f. BMC 27b, North vol 1, p 66, no 128. S 777A. Diameter:12.7 mm Thickness: 1.8 mm Weight: 0.6 g Similar sceats have been recorded on the PAS database. These include: BERK-D13CC2; SUSS-795889; DUR-995F97 and LIN-580DA5.
