A cast copper alloy leg from a copper alloy cooking vessel, probably a skillet of 18th to 19th century dating. It measures 91.61mm in length, 69.70mm in width and 22.20mm thick. It weighs 266.43 grams. It is sub rectangular in plan and D shaped in section. The base of the leg is rounded with no obvious foot being present. The external surface is broadly flat with a central rib, running down the length of the leg. An old break is present at the top of the leg, where it would have joined the body of the cooking vessel. One (1) bodysherd of a wheelthrown ceramic vessel, of Medieval dating (13th to 14th Centuries AD). The sherd is 12.09mm thick and weighs 8.8 grams. It is 36.67mm wide and 23.85mm long. The sherd has an oxidised fabric, with frequent small charcoal like inclusions. Traces of a green glaze are present on the exterior of the sherd. The fabric and the glazing is indicative of a local (unsourced) Medieval jug fabric, probably from the Worcestershire area. Two incomplete fragments from copper alloy cooking vessels, of Late Medieval to Early Post Medieval dating (AD 1400 to AD 1700). The largest fragment has a length of 77.9 mm, is 30.7 mm wide and 2.3 mm thick. It weighs 23.6 g. The smallest fragment has a length of 31.5 mm, a width of 30.7 mm and is 2.3 mm thick. It weighs 10.5 g. Together both fragments weigh 34.1 g. The two fragments are probably from the same cooking vessel. No decoration is present on either surfrace. A copper alloy Medieval or Post Medieval (12th to mid-19th centuries) fragment of a cooking vessel leg. The fragment is broadly trapezoidal in profile and section. The upper edge has a broken terminal where the leg would have once attached to the pot. The sides then flare to the lower edge which is slightly angled and flat in order for the vessel to stand.
