An incomplete replica of a silver struck / hammered cut half penny of Edward I (AD 1279 to AD 1307) through to Edward III (AD 1327 to AD 1377). [ ]SWELL ON[ ] reverse type depicting a voided short cross with four joined pellets in each quarter. Mint uncertain. This replica coin is imitating the sterling pennies of Edward I-III, albeit using a reverse type consistent with the short cross pennies issued between the reigns of Henry II (AD 1180 to AD 1247).
