An incomplete copper alloy brooch of Colchester derivative, Polden Hill (Mackreth Group 4, flat wing ends type, West Midlands) of Mackreth 2011, 4.l. Plate 48 of Roman date (AD 80-120). Approximately 50% of the brooch is present, with a wing, spring, pin, foot and catchplate missing. In plan, the brooch is almost T-shaped, and D-shaped in cross section. The bow head is hump-like, and angular (comma shaped) in profile, with cylindral wings projecting from either side at the top. Only one wing remains. An incomplete copper alloy dolphin (hinged) type, of Roman dating (AD 55 to AD 100). Approximately 50% of the brooch is present, consisting of bow and wings. The rest of the brooch is missing, presumed lost in antiquity. The bow is D-shaped, with an angled head. The wings are circular in shape. The reverse of the wing have been decorated with vertical grooves, giving the impression of a coiled spring. The bow is decorated with vertical ridges. Ix Post Medieval to Modern silver incomplete annular brooch, dating to 19th - 20th centuries. The brooch is circular in plan with a covex front face and flat reverse. The front face is decrated with an integrally cast repeating scroll and foliate design. The reverse face has the remains of an integrally cast catchplate and the base of the now missing pin mechanism. The brooch has a light silver to dark grey coloured patina.
