The catch plate fragment consists of the base of the bow and part of the triangular catch plate behind it. It is rectangular in plan, and irregular in profile. The catch plate is a mid to dark green colour, with an even surface patina. Abrasion, caused by movement whilst within the plough soil, has resulted in a loss of surface detail.
