A cast copper alloy single looped buckle frame, of Medieval dating (14th Century AD). The buckle frame is sub oval in plan, with two protruding corner knops . The strap bar is square in section and offset. The frame is decorated by two oval protruding corner knops, with three perpendicular grooves between them in the centre of the loop. These grooves presumably acted as the pin rest rest as well as being decorative. The back of the frame is plain and undecorated. The pin is missing, presumably lost in antiquity. A cast copper alloy annular buckle (or possible annular 'ring' brooch) of medieval date (1200-1400). The buckle is circular in plan with a circular cross section. There is no evidence for a constriction within the frame of the buckle to which a pin would fit. Instead the pin is attached by a large loop which moves freely around the frame. The curvature and cross section are indicative that it was originally part of the frame of a double looped (spectacle buckle).
