An incomplete wrought iron double pronged artefact, consisting of the tip of a flesh hook, of probable Roman dating (43 AD - 410 AD). It is irregular in both plan and cross section. It consists of a slender iron rod, expanding at the base into a triangular shape, into two points extending out at right angles from the rod. It is uncertain whether the two points originally joined together to form a ring or whether they continued out straight to form hooks or not. An incomplete forged iron dagger, of probable Early Post Medieval dating (15th to 16th Centuries AD). Around 50% of the dagger is present, consisting of most of the blade, the quillon and part of the tang. The rest of the tang and the tip of the blade are missing, presumed lost in antiquity. A complete cast iron cannon ball, of 19th Century dating. The cannon ball is spherical in shape. It has a maximum diameter of 105 mm (4.1 inches) and weighs 4 kg (2.2 lbs). The circumference is approximately 32 cm (12.5 inches). The cannon ball is a mid to dark brown colour, with an even surface patina. Some traces of iron corrosion (rust) are present on the surface, but no lamination of the surface has occurred. The dimensions and weight would suggest that this cannon ball is a British 9 pdr. A complete wrought iron rectangular buckle frame and pin, of probable Medieval to Post Medieval dating (1400 - 1600 AD). The buckle frame is sub rectangular in plan, and rectangular in profile. The outside edge is slightly curved. The pin is sub rectangular, with a tapering tip, and appears to have been wrapped around the strap bar. An incomplete iron probable plate brooch, of probable Roman dating (2nd Century AD). The probable brooch is circular in shape, with two opposing triangular projections. One of these is flat, the other has a perpendicular (at right angles) projection extending downwards. This is probably the remnants of the catch plate. An 'S' shaped void is present in the centre of the probable plate brooch. No decoration appears to be present. It measures 44.33 mm in length, 23.02 mm wide and 7.88 mm thick. It weighs 3.8 g.
