An incomplete small iron key from a rotary lock, of Late Roman dating (AD 200 to AD 400). The key consists of a D-sectioned circular bow with a rectangular stem projecting from one side. The bit of the key is also rectangular but is set at an angle of 90° to that of the stem, which is a Roman characteristic. The bit has two horizontal clefts cut into it, one on each side, creating an S shape. No decoration is present on the key. The key measures 48.7 mm in length, 28.1 mm wide and is 28.6 mm thick.
