An incomplete fragment of gold of uncertain function and form. The fragment of gold is sub rectangular in plan and flat. Facets are present on both surfaces, suggesting that it has been hammered, they create an almost cross like shape. It measures 9.0 mm in length, 7.6 mm wide and 1.1 mm thick. It weighs 0.6 g. As the original function and form can not be determined from this small fragment, it is undiagnostic of age and can not be proven to be older than 300 years. A complete gold cylindrical artefact with filigree decoration. The artefact is hollow (now filled with soil) and comprises a rectangular gold sheet rolled into a circular shape.
