A fragment of a cast copper alloy cooking vessel rim. The rim is internally bevelled. The rim is the only original edge remaining, all other edges demonstrate old breaks. The fragment measures 40.38mm in length, 27.17mm in width, 8.32mm thick. It weighs 52.5 grams. The shape of the rim suggests it most likely comes from a cooking vessel, however it is uncertain what type of vessel. Copper alloy cooking vessels were commonly in use during the Medieval period, from the mid 13th to 16th centuries.
