Three (3) sherds, weighing 13.7 grams, from the same wheelthrown ceramic vessel. These sherds consist of one (1) rimsherd and two (2) bodysherds. All three (3) sherds have a fabric similar to that described as SAND1 in Ratkai 2000, p. 85. It consists of a glazed sandy ware, a regional type of jug, found in Herefordshire and Shropshire, with a main concentration in Worcestershire and Staffordshire. One of the bodysherds exhibits some rouletted decoration, which would indicate dating of mid 12th to mid 13th centuries (1150 to 1250 AD). All sherds have been photographed separately. …

It consists of a coarse sandy cooking pot type fabric, a regional type of cooking pots and jars, found in Herefordshire and Shropshire, with a main concentration in Worcestershire and Staffordshire. Two (2) bodysherds, weighing 2.7 grams, from of a handmade ceramic vessel. Both sherds have a fabric similar to that described as SAND3 in Ratkai 2000, p85. It consists of a coarse sandy glazed jug type fabric with a white slip present under the glaze. Twenty-three (23) sherds (eight (8) rimsherds, four (4) basesherds and eleven (11) bodysherds) of several wheelthrown ceramic vessels. Three of the bodysherds exhibit circular perforations, probably for lead rivet repairs. The sherds vary in thickness from 4.75mm to 11.14mm. In total they weigh 189 grams. The sherds have a smooth red slip and an orangey red fabric. It is consistent with Samian ware, a type of Roman pottery imported from Gaul mainly during the 1st and 2nd centuries AD.
