The sherds vary in thickness from 5.86mm to 7.81mm. In total they weigh 59.4grams.
The sherds have a dark grey reduced fabric. Subtle differences are present in the fabric types between sherds, which would indicate different sources of production. This type of Romano-British pottery was in production through the Roman occupation of Britain, from 1st to 4th Centuries (1 - 400 AD).

One rimsherd of a wheel thrown ceramic vessel, of Early Roman dating (1st to 3rd Centuries AD)
The sherd consists of a fragment of a Roman ceramic type, known as Samian ware. Numerous white flecks are present as inclusions in the fabric, suggesting that the production centre was South Gaulish in origin, possibly La Graufesenque. The profile of the rimsherd is consistent with a vessel type known as Dragendorff 27 (Webster, 1996, 38), which equates to a small cup with a double curved wall and a beaded rim. An incomplete cast (or possibly wrought) copper alloy nail cleaner with lugs sub-group B , of Roman dating (Mid-Late 1st Century).
The nail cleaner is sub rectangular in plan, and flat in cross section. It consists of a sub rectangular blade with tapering long sides, slowly widening towards the top. A complete wrought or hand forged copper alloy nail, of probable Roman dating (1st to 4th Centuries AD).
The nail consists of a flattened circular head, and a circular sectioned shank. The shank demonstrates a minor degree of faceting, suggesting that it was originally wrought from a larger more angular piece. The tip of the nail is triangular in shape, with the facets extending up the shank of the nail.
The nail is a dark green colour, with an even surface patina. Some minor traces of tinning are present on the surface, suggesting that it might have originally been tinned.

An incomplete cast copper alloy enamelled mount or stud of probable Roman dating (1 AD to 410 AD).
The mount is square in plan, with a raised central ridge on the front. Symmetrical decoration is present on either side of this ridge, consisting of two pointed oval / petals joined together at the circular bulbous end, with the points angled towards the corners. An incomplete silver finger ring, of Roman dating (43 AD to 410 AD).
The ring is incomplete, missing an inset intaglio (oval setting), but is otherwise in good condition. The ring is D shaped in section. The ring is no longer circular in plan, being squashed out of shape, and is now oval in shape.
It measures 21.29mm tall, 26.98mm wide, 13.18 thick at the bezel, 3.88mm thick at the base of the hoop and the hoop is 3.42mm thick. It weighs 10.7 grams.
The ring has been reported as Treasure, being older than 300 years with a precious metal (silver) content of greater than 10%.

An incomplete cast copper alloy finger ring, of Roman dating (2nd to 3rd Centuries AD).
The finger ring is approximately 50% complete, missing the back part of the hoop. The front part with intaglio setting is present. The intaglio is missing. The hoop is D section and flares at the shoulders into a wide flat bezel. A shallow recessed oval setting is present approximately centrally in the bezel, this would have been the setting for an intaglio, now missing. The setting measures 9.26mm long , 7.66mm wide, and 1.12mm deep.
