The bag seal consists of two sub circular discs of lead or lead alloy pressed together. Approximately 50% of the front disc is present, with a stamped design. Only the letter H survives of the original design, with a floral design above and a pelleted border. The back is plain and undecorated. The bag seal is a light to mid grey colour, with an even surface patina. It measures 22.09mm in diameter and 5.12mm thick. It weighs 4.8 grams.
