A complete wrought or hand forged copper alloy nail, of probable Roman dating (1st to 4th Centuries AD). The nail consists of a flattened circular head, and a circular sectioned shank. The shank demonstrates a minor degree of faceting, suggesting that it was originally wrought from a larger more angular piece. The tip of the nail is triangular in shape, with the facets extending up the shank of the nail. The nail is a dark green colour, with an even surface patina. An incomplete cast / handmade copper alloy nail, of probable Post Medieval dating (1700 - 1900 AD). The nail consists of an incomplete rectangular head, and a rectangular sectioned shank, which gradually tapers to a blunt point. One side of the shank exhibits a series of fine diagonal lines crossing the surface (possible saw or file marks). The nail is a mid to dark green colour, with an even surface patina.
