A complete but fragmentary cast lead or lead alloy two part cloth seal, from the Norwich Weavers Company of Late 17th Century dating.
The cloth seal consists of a two part cloth seal, folded in half, with disc 2 being in two fragments.
Each disc is sub circular in plan, with the remains of the connecting strip present on each one. Disc 1 (the front disc) bears the identification of the type of cloth, and disc 2 (the back disc), has a central hole for the rivet to go through and a figure for the length in yards of the piece as measured.
The inscription on disc 1 reads: WOR / STE…
