A complete cast copper alloy hooked strap fitting of Late Medieval to Early Post Medieval dating (1400 to 1600 AD). The strap fitting consists of a rectangular D sectioned attachment, with a square sectioned hook at the base. The hook has a blunt point, and is U shaped in profile. The attachment end has been decorated by a couple of raised collars, one at the top and one at the bottom, on either side of the holes for rivets. The terminal, upper plate and sides are made from one piece of metal, and the strap-end is sub-rectangular in both plan and cross-section. The attachment end tapers in side view and there is a small separate backplate. Only about 50% of the back plate is present, consisting of a small piece of sheet copper alloy metal, rectangular in plan, with a small copper alloy rivet, placed centrally and not visible on the front, securing it in place. An incomplete cast copper alloy strainer, of Medieval to Post Medieval dating (1300 to 1600 AD). The fragment is irregular in plan and profile. It consists of a sheet of copper alloy metal with a series of irregularly spaced holes or perforations punched into it. Six (6) holes are present, all but one are full of soil or metal corrosion products. The empty hole has an internal perforation of 2.26mm.
