A complete cast copper alloy hooked strap fitting of Late Medieval to Early Post Medieval dating (1400 to 1600 AD). The strap fitting consists of a rectangular D sectioned attachment, with a square sectioned hook at the base. The hook has a blunt point, and is U shaped in profile. The attachment end has been decorated by a couple of raised collars, one at the top and one at the bottom, on either side of the holes for rivets. The terminal, upper plate and sides are made from one piece of metal, and the strap-end is sub-rectangular in both plan and cross-section. It consists of a sheet of copper alloy metal with a series of irregularly spaced holes or perforations punched into it.
