A complete roll of sheet lead alloy, of uncertain date and function (AD 43 to AD 1800). The artefact consists of a rectangular strip of lead sheet, tightly rolled up into a cylinder. It measures 17.81 mm in length, 11.56 mm wide and 10.64 mm thick. It weighs 13.0 g. The roll of lead is a light to mid grey colour, with an even surface patina. The Romans did have curse tablets which consisted of writing a curse on a small piece of lead sheet and then rolling it up before offering it to the gods, many have been found in the spring at Bath.
