A single sub cuboid white stone probable tessera. The find consists of an sub cuboid tessera, probably made out of chalk or similar white stone. The top surface appears to be slightly polished which is the result of being walked over. The other surfaces are rough and irregular in shape. It measures 15.77mm long, 13.09mm wide and 13.23mm deep. It weighs 3.9 grams. The presence of tessera on a site indicates the probability of a mosaic pavement, and therefore a probable villa. A complete white stone sub cuboid possible tessera, of possible Roman dating (AD 43 to AD 410). The possible tessera is sub cuboid in shape, with traces of white mortar on two sides. It has been made from a fine grained white stone. It measures 22.0 mm in length, 23.6 mm wide and 21.8 mm tall. It weighs 25.4 g. The possible tessera is a light grey to off white colour, with an even surface patina.
