A complete cast lead or lead alloy bi-convex decorated spindle whorl, of Medieval dating (1100 - 1450 AD). The spindle whorl is sub circular in plan, and lentoid in cross section. The upper face has been decorated with a large number of raised pellets, arranged in an approximate circular pattern. Diagonal rays have been placed in between the pellets, in a rough chevron style pattern. The lower face exhibits thick S-shape ribs, in a sunburst / wheel style design.
