A complete, but bent, silver bodkin or dress-pin, of Post medieval dating (AD 1500 to AD 1650). The bodking exhibits an acute 25 degree bend, located around the mid point of the bodkin, resulting in it being folded almost in half. The bodkin has a rectangular sectioned shaft, with bevelled (slightly facetted) edges on both sides. The shaft tapers to a blunt tip. The head of the bodkin has a rounded tip with a small bowl / ear scoop terminal. An incomplete silver twisted bodkin of Post Medieval dating (AD 1600 to AD 1700). Around 25% of the bodkin or toilet article is present, consisting of part of the shaft and an incomplete eye. The eye would have been sub square in shape, with a rounded terminal. Below the eye, the shaft has a rectangular cross section. The shaft has been twisted with an 'S' twist and extended down to a square cross section. It measures 39.9 mm in length, 3.8 mm wide and 5.6 mm thick. It weighs 1.9 g.

Although described as a 'brooch' there is now no sign of any fitting or fastening. The disc is complete and largely undamaged although there is some discolouring on both face and back. The frame, now misshapen, is convex at the front and concave at the rear, with ridged edges. A circular perforation (hole) has been made in the frame for the pin. An incomplete silver button, made from a silver rupee issued in the Indian Princely State of Hyderabad in the late 19th century. The coin is circular, with raised arabic script on both sides. An incomplete circular loop has been solded to the centre of the reverse, converting the coin into a button. The button has a diameter of 14.9 mm and is 4.9 mm thick. The coin is 2.2 mm thick.
