An incomplete lead or lead alloy ampulla, of Medieval dating (AD 1175 to AD1500). Approximately 50% of the ampulla is present, with incomplete handles and top. It is sub rectangular in shape, with a horizontal linear upper edge and a narrowed neck. This horizontal edge of the ampulla has been pushed together. Just below the upper edge the neck of the ampulla is slightly waisted with the remains of a lug on both sides. Raised pellets are positioned along the edge of each ray. No attachment points are present on the reverse. It measures 15.7 mm in length, 16.6 mm wide and 3.2 mm thick. It weighs 2.9 g. Two similar lead stars have been recorded from the same field, FAKL-356B49. Stars of this type were attached, as decoration, to the ceilings of buildings (Egan, 2005, 69-71). A complete cast lead seal matrix, of Medieval date (c. 1250 - c.1350 AD). The seal matrix has a circular die, with a large D-shaped lug on the reverse. This is rectangular in cross-section and has an off-centre sub-circular perforation, diameter 2.52mm. No marks appears to be visible to aid orientation of the die.
