A group of mixed animal bones and teeth of probable Post Medieval date, based on their size and condition. They have been identified as: fragments of cattle and possible horse skull, probable cattle and sheep/goat teeth, a sub-adult cattle ulna a sheep/goat humerus a sub-adult horse intermediate phalange a probable cattle-sized ulna or scapula a probable cattle-sized pelvis horse teeth and jaw fragments a sheep/goat tibia. They wer found deeply buried along with Medieval pottery. They probably represent a midden.

Two fragments of sheep-sized animal bone. Neither fragment can be confidently identified to species or element, but would have likely come from the long bone of a sheep-sized animal. Fragment 1 measures 32.14mm long, 10.70mm wide, 3.29mm thick and weighs 1.3 grams. Fragment 2 measures 19.57mm long, 21.06mm wide, 5.55mm thick and weighs 1.5 grams. Both fragments together weigh 2.8 grams. Both fragments exhibit signs of abrasion and post-mortem damage. No butchery marks or evidence of working are present. These fragments could be of any date…

The fragment exhibit signs of abrasion and post-mortem damage. No butchery marks or evidence of working are present. This fragment could be of any date, from Bronze Age to Modern (2150 BC to 1900 AD).
