An incomplete cast copper alloy annular brooch of later medieval date (1300-1450). The brooch is approximately 50% complete, consisting only of the circular (annular) frame. The pin is missing, presumably lost in antiquity. In plan the brooch is an irregular oval (probably originally circular) with a triangular cross section, with the apex pointing towards the centre of the brooch. A silver half groat of Henry VII, minted in Canterbury, (jointly with Archbishop Morton?) between 1486-1500. There is no M in the centre of the reverse and it has been been clipped. The initial mark is a Tun. It has a double arched crown. No stops are legible so it can not be determined whether it is Class IIIa/IIIb or IIIc. It is similar to North type 1712 (volume 2, page 102). A cast copper alloy end looped cosmetic mortar, typically dating from the Late Iron Age to the Early Roman period (1st to 2nd Centuries AD). The mortar has a plain, relatively shallowed bowed profile, with the suspension loop situated at one end. The loop folds back on itself, and becomes attached to the base of the mortar. An incomplete cast copper alloy dress hook, of Post Medieval dating (16th to 17th Centuries AD). The dress hook consists of a diamond shaped plate, with integrally cast hook. The decoration on the front of the plate consists of a centrally located square, set end to end (diamond / lozenge shape), with a lattice work, set to look like foliate decoration around the out side. A copper alloy sub-circular section of a purse frame typically of Late Medieval to Early Post Medieval dating (c.1450 to c.1550). Late Medieval purse frames came in several sections. A cast copper alloy single loop strap slide or loop, of Medieval dating (Late 13th to 14th Centuries AD). The strap slide or loop is sub rectangular in plan, and the frame is D-shaped in cross section. A bodysherd of a wheelthrown ceramic vessel. The sherd is 6.47mm thick and weighs 12.6g. It is 48.14mm long and 28.86mm wide. The sherd consists of a bodysherd, in a fabric is similar to that known as Derbyshire Ware, a hard gritty micaeous greyware. The typical form of this ware is a jar with deep 'bell-mouthed' rim or rolled rim. Earlier specimens tend to have more lightly moulded rims, but this develops to a deeply dished form by the mid 3rd century. Bowls and dishes are also known in the same ware.
